Course Details
This course is suitable for those with no experience of computers. This is a fun and enjoyable half day course in which participants will learn the skills to move around Windows confidently.
On our courses both keyboard and mouse skills are taught. All courses are instructor led and have comprehensive course notes.
INTRODUCTION
- A quick revision of the basic topics.
- Basic elements of Windows
- Types of windows, parts of a window
- Types of icons
- Using menu, help and undo
DESKTOP WINDOWS
- Move, tile and cascade windows
- Sizing, Maximise and minimise Windows
- Starting applications, switching applications
- Working with dialogue boxes
- Using Paint, Wordpad, Cardfile, Calendar, Calculator, Clock, Windows games

Transferring information between applications with the clipboard.
- Create your own Logo/Signature to link
CONTROL PANEL
- Working with the Control Panel
- Changing desktop colours, pattern and wallpaper
- Create your own graphic, to install it as wallpaper
- Set and change Regional dates and time formats
- Enabling screen savers
- Using the My Computer and Explorer
- Creating and Removing directories
- Copy, rename, delete, and move files
- Copy files to a Disk or USB
