Course Details

Participants will learn more in their first day then most users know after 12-18 months. Differences in participants skill and experience are catered for.


The consultancy session allows time for participants to work on their own projects at their own pace. Experienced users learn new tips and techniques whilst those with less experience can have a chance to recap.


On our courses both keyboard and mouse skills are taught., all courses also include comprehensive notes.


ENTER AND EDIT

  • Basic spreadsheeting concepts.
  • Moving around the spreadsheet
  • Using the menus, toolbar, mouse, help and undo
  • Select, clear, enter, alter and delete
  • Cut, copy, past and fill
  • Insert and delete; cells, rows and columns

USING FORMULAS

  • Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
  • Functions to total, date, time, average, maximum and count
  • Linking cells with Absolutes

FORMAT AND ALIGN

  • Adding $ signs and commas
  • Setting number of decimal places
  • Widen and narrow columns and rows
  • Align column headings, centre spreadsheet title
  • Fonts, bold, italic, underline, double underline
  • Borders, boxes and shading, Format painter
  • Customising headers and footers

FILE AND PRINT

  • Save, open, close and create a new spreadsheet
  • Portrait and landscape, printing and page layout

CHARTS

  • Creating charts in both 2D and 3D

CONSULTANCY SESSION

  • Bring a project to work on and receive guidance in using the skills learnt. You do a days work on our course and you can take your work away with you
